My approved PERM and I140 (in process) were applied using the old cancelled pp.
I got a new passport last week.
Is there anything I need to do since i have the new PP now?

Just came across GAO's( General Accountability Office) recommendations to make changes in H-1B program. Eventhough they talk mainly about Staffing Companies and increased employer accountability, there seems to be a mention regarding the H1B extensions beyond 6 years with simultaneous application to green card. Eventhough not stating in exact words, it seems to hint to the congress to seriously relook at H-1B extensions beyond 6years and also regarding cap exempt Visas and supposedly how easy it is to get them. Looks like with the economy being how it is, Congress might use this report to jump in and bring some unfavourable changes. Any thoughts on this...?

Hi all,
I am in a confusing situation would really appreciate some suggestions.
I am the primary applicant and my spouse is the beneficiary for the 485 applications that were sent on July 07. I have received a RFE on my 140. My PD is 12/2004 EB3-India.
My spouse company may be willing to apply for her under EB1C. I have a few questions:
1. Can she apply for 140/485 simultaneously? (I heard concurrent applications are not possible)
2. Can the existing 485s be jeopardized by the new 485s?
3. Do we need to go in for FP and do our Medicals again if we apply for 485s again or are they going to reuse what we have already sent?
4. Do we need to withdraw the existing 485s at some point of time
5. Is this worth the hassel of complicating the applications?
Please help!

Sir/Mam,
I am was in US on H4. I am currently in my home country for vacation.
While here, I got my H1B applied and approved as consular processing for 2011 cap.
I plan to go back to US in August on H4 and then apply COS in October and start working.
My question is : Since my H1 was approved while I was out of US, will my COS also be approved as consular processing only? Do I have to go for stamping again before I could start working???
Also, if I decide to wait and get my H1 stamped in my home country, what is the earliest I can go to stamping for 2011 cap? Can I land in US on H1B sometime mid September and start working from October.

Her court date is on 30th July in texas. I need help to find a good immigration lawyer for her. I got H1 this year. I was applied my ssn on oct 9 th. still i didn't get my ssn number. two days back ssn people called and told that "in online it is showing your EAd card. so we can give u ssn if you bring the EAD card". My question is if i give my EAD, will the h1 get cancelled. please suggest me.
Dont worry, showing EAD to SSA office will not cancel or invalid your H1B. Goto SSA office and tell them you have both H1B as well as EAD.

I am from California. One of the requirement as you all know is Notice of Job posting with SWA. We have a new person in our HR who deals with immigration the earlier one left .
Problem Description: According to our new HR posting jobs on http://www.caljobs.ca.gov/

You are already counted in the quota. So it is just transfer. But for transfer need recent paystubs. Consult a lawyer how to handle this. Definitly you no need to wait for April 1 st quota for new H1B.

My cousin has a speech pathology (MSc) degreee from india and is trying for job oppurtunities in US( myself being a s/w i have no clue how this process works), can anyone of you throw some light on what kind of visa is needed, visa process involved, any consultants who can sponsor visa, and what are other things required to get started for this process. Any information is appreceiated.
