I should add that you can only port once your I-140 has been approved.

I did the same thing.
I filed first I-485 on July 6th, but my attorney said that they had messed something up...and need to file second I-485. Second set was filled around August 14th
I received all my receipts as well as EAD from first filling.
So my attorney asked to put stop payment on checks from second I-485, so now when USCIS asks for money...she will withdraw the second case at that time.
Should this work...???

Can you please explain it a bit more clear. I assume that you appled two I485? One for you, with your wife as dependant. And your wife, with you as dependant. Is that right.
If so which applications should have same A number. I though A number is different for each applicant. And how can your wife and you both have same A number?

It was a mistake by the guy who stamped I-94 (at CBP).
Her H-4 must be expire on your expiration date.
You need to go to nearest CBP office to get it corrected.
She need deferred inspection to get it straight. USCIS will not do it.
OR Do nothing about it and file H-4 extension along with your H1B extension.
If you do not extend her with your petition, even if she have valid I-94, she may end up in trouble later.

My wife is on H4 visa (expiring in 3-20-2013 since she got 5 yr multiple visa). Recently she visited Kuwait and on her re-entry she was given entry (on her I94) up to 3-15-2013 (up to 5 days prior to her visa expiration). Will she also need extension in this case along with my extension or can she stay in US till 2013 with out extension Thanks.

It's taking anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks on an average after the introduction of the new lockbox system. We received our receipts in 29 days, so I don't think you should panic yet :)

Probably you got to make you aware of science of immigration. Tell the authorities what they ask for (not what you want to tell). These days merger and aquisitions are commonplace and USCIS may be aware of these situations.

My company merged with another one last year just after my I-140 was approved. I'm preparing to file I-485 (doing it myself) and I'm wondering what kind of documents/letters do I need to submit to USCIS to proof that my job wasn't affect by the merger and I'm still working in the same position.
I'd really like to send all required information to USCIS so that I don't have to reply to RFEs later on.
Any examples of letters or list of supporting documents will be appreciated.

Here are my opinion
1) Since you are extending your H1B right now, Why can't yoy apply for premium processing?
2) Mean while Apply for EAD also. You will get in 90 days
3) For AP you can take infopass or call Customer Service -- Normally AP gets approved in 30 days. Check other threads also where others have used infopass to Expedite the case

It looks like you are getting glare from glass or something. Get as close to the glass as you can and the lens as perpendicular as possible. A dark cloth and duct tape to put it up with would get you two things: (1) ability to block glare from lights behind you and (2) hide you from the birds so they settle down.
I've actually put the camera on a tripod and draped a large towel over it and my head/torso for camoflage, which let me stand outdoors and get closer without scaring them away. But I don't do that much because it's really tiring standing there, motionless :)
For the most part, a flash doesn't seem to bother birds much and it's a great help - you get better contrast and a faster shutter.
