Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas play FIFA concert
Alicia Keys and Black Eyed Peas are among the acts set to play the FIFA World Cup Kick-off Celebration concert at the newly renovated Orlando Stadium in Soweto/Johannesburg, South Africa.
The FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) concert also will feature appearances by John Legend, Juanes, Shakira, Amadou & Mariam and Angelique Kidjo, according to a press release. BLK JKS, The Parlotones, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Toure and Vusi Mahlasela also will perform at the celebration of the first FIFA World Cup to be held on the African continent.
The concert will take place June 10, the night before the first World Cup match. The tournament will feature 32 national teams from all over the world playing matches in 10 South African stadiums.
